BCMCL Cricket For Cancer

BCMCL Proud to announce celebration of 100th year anniversary by hosting fundraising event for BC Cancer Foundation, "Cricket for Cancer". 2013 was BCMCL 100th year anniversary and BCMCL community felt that this is the best way to celebrate by giving it back to community by raising funds to have cancer free world. we all may have someone in our life who has lost their battle to cancer and by organizing these events we are hoping to make a difference by winning these battles against cancer. BCMCL will try to raise funds every year going forward.

BCMCL History

BCMCL (British Columbia Mainland Cricket league) community has been around for years. In British Columbia cricket was being taught to school children in 1852. We have collected some detailed history and photos from the early years of cricket in BC.
In 1913 the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League was formed headed by J.Fyfe-Smith, president, and R.V.L. Johnston secretary. By 1959 the League had grown to 26 teams from a total of 13 clubs and from there it has grown to where it is today with 30 clubs and 71 teams.
This fundraising event is going to be first of its kind for BCMCL community and we are very excited to assist with battle against cancer.
