Son of Euphamia (Harden) and Archibald McLaren Sr. He is predeceased by his parents and older sister May. Archie passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 19th, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his soulmate and beloved wife, Rose whom he was devoted to for 50 years (married for 48), daughters Yvonne and Michelle who were the apple of his eye, son-in-law Stephan Perren who shared a mutal respect for each other, best friends Gil and Yvette Perrin who spent many afternoons together, his grandchildren who he adored Josh, Quiana, Geneva and Kylan, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Jean Campbell, nephews Glen and Dean as well as his many friends. He was extremely proud of his family and always loved sharing stories about them. In 1964 Archie and Rose decided to make Canada home and after 10 years of living in Victoria, BC they became Canadian citizens. Archie worked as a meat cutter at Safeway for 35 years and after retirement he became a long time member at Prospect Lake Golf Course. Archie had many friends due to his kind-hearted nature. His smile could light up a room and he had a childlike sense of humour. Archie was very passionate about gardening and enjoyed spending summers with his family by his pool and hot tub. He will be missed by all. Many heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at the BC Cancer Agency, especially Michelle.
