In October 2017, the BC Cancer Foundation launched a fundraising campaign in which BMO matched donations for the purchase and installation of a new PET/CT scanner for the Southern Interior.

The BC Cancer Agency’s Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre, located in Kelowna, was able to raise half of the $5 Million needed to make this happen. While an outstanding amount, we still need your help!

PET/CT is vital in helping doctors diagnose cancer and create treatment plans for patients.

There are currently only two publicly funded PET/CT scanners in B.C., both located at the BC Cancer Vancouver Centre. Currently, more than 800 patients from the Southern Interior have to travel to Vancouver each year for a PET/CT scan they're counting on to save their lives. Many more are too unwell or don't have the support network to make the trip. With more than 5,000 new cancer diagnoses expected this year in the region, the time to bring this essential diagnostic tool to Kelowna is now.

Please make a donation today and help revolutionize cancer care in the Southern Interior!
