Partnership brings new hope to patients

BC Cancer and Microsoft Canada have established a game-changing partnership that is answering cancer’s most complex questions at a rate never thought possible.

Fuelled by advances in molecular biology, genomics and computer science, BC Cancer researchers are applying a radically investigative approach known as single cell genomics to analyze the millions of individual cells that make up cancer, made possible by cloud computing.

Transformative prostate cancer treatment

BC Cancer researchers are implementing a targeted prostate cancer treatment for men with advanced disease. Radionuclide therapy (RNT) will be available through a coordinated initiative across multiple centres in Canada.

Thousands of British Columbians through the BC Cancer Foundation have supported the research and development of RNT for prostate cancer, and the RNT trial will bring this emerging form of treatment to prostate cancer patients in Canada.

Dr. Alan Bates receives prestigious award

Congratulations to Dr. Alan Bates, provincial practice leader for psychiatry at BC Cancer, on receiving the Canadian Psychiatric Association Early Career Achievement in Psychiatry Award for 2018.

Dr. Bates is leading a project funded by BC Cancer Foundation donors to establish a sustainable spiritual care program that will offer added support to British Columbians facing cancer.
