Ride to Conquer Cancer fuels latest in research and care

The 10th annual Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Wheaton Precious Metals raised $10.6 million as 2,500 riders cycled 200 km through the Fraser Valley in the two-day trek.

In 10 years, the Ride has raised over $96 million to support more than 47 world-leading research projects underway at BC Cancer, advancing care and providing hope to the 77,000 people undergoing cancer care across British Columbia.

“Over 10 epic years the Ride to Conquer Cancer has been changing outcomes for British Columbians facing cancer. The Ride and its thousands of participants, tens of thousands of donors, gives families hope that together we can conquer this disease,” says Sarah Roth, President & CEO, BC Cancer Foundation.

PET/CT scanner coming to the Interior

The BC Cancer Foundation announced today the completion of its $5-million campaign to bring a PET/CT scanner to BC Cancer - Kelowna, which will cut down on significant travel time for patients in the Interior who currently have to travel to Vancouver where the province’s only two publicly-funded PET/CT scanners are located for their scans.

Cypress Challenge raises over $440,000

The 11th annual Glotman·Simpson Cypress Challenge saw 770 cyclists power up Cypress Mountain and raise over $440,000 to help change the outcome for British Columbians facing pancreatic cancer.

Funds raised from the event will enable researchers to continue to improve the global understanding of the elusive disease.
