Donors to help expand life-saving treatment options

A new study spearheaded by Dr. Dean Regier aims to help bring the life-saving Personalized Onco-Genomics (POG) program into the provincial healthcare system, for the benefit of cancer patients across the province.

The study, generously funded by BC Cancer Foundation donors, looks to generate evidence of the patient-centred economic benefits of POG, a cutting-edge clinical trial that is changing the way oncologists view cancer treatment. The trial was recently featured on CBC's The Nature of Things.

“The findings of this research will be crucial because it will support the implementation of POG into our healthcare system,” says Dr. Regier, a scientist at the BC Cancer Agency.

Wedgewood Cooks For Cancer

Hosted at Bacchus Restaurant in Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel & Spa late last month, Frank Giustra Cooks brought together culinary ingenuity, celebrity entertainment and philanthropy to raise over $247,500 for the BC Cancer Foundation.

The critical funds raised will help the more than 77,000 British Columbians living with cancer today.
