Workout to Conquer Cancer Raises $360,000 for Cancer Research
On April 25, 500 women and men came together in support of breakthrough cancer research at the BC Cancer Foundation’s Workout to Conquer Cancer.
The daylong fun fitness challenge raised $360,000 to fuel life-saving cancer research at the BC Cancer Agency.
The energy level in the Richmond Olympic Oval soared, as smiles and bright-coloured workout gear filled the room.
In just three short years, Workout to Conquer Cancer has raised a total of $1,050,000! These funds are having a significant impact on the future of cancer treatment and care by fuelling groundbreaking discoveries with the power to improve early detection, treatment and outcomes for cancer patients in B.C. and beyond.

Join Us to Celebrate a Decade of Discovery on Sunday, June 7
BC Cancer Foundation donors have supported a Decade of Discovery in cancer research. Funded through their generosity, the BC Cancer Agency Research Centre (CRC) has become a powerhouse fixture in cancer research on a global scale.
2015 marks the CRC’s 10th Anniversary. Coinciding with National Survivorship Day, on Sunday, June 7, we invite you to join us at the CRC in Vancouver as we hear from world-leading experts on the incredible progress made over the past decade and look ahead to the next decade when more and more British Columbians will be able to say three important words, “I’m Still Here”.

BC Cancer Agency Launches New Website!
The BC Cancer Agency launched a new website in April, with a new design and a more modern structure. The new site is easy to read and navigate so patients and families, donors and partners can find the information they need.
The new website will also be smartphone and tablet-friendly, for browsing and reading on the go, and is best viewed on Internet Explorer (IE, version 8 or higher) or on Google Chrome or Safari.

Introducing May Guest Blogger: Dr. Jessica McAlpine
A huge thank you goes to April guest blogger Dr. Dan Renouf for sharing the latest exciting developments in treating pancreatic cancer.
In May we welcome Dr. Jessica McAlpine, Gynaecologic Oncologist and Translational Researcher at the BC Cancer Agency and Director of the OVCARE Gynaecologic Tissue Bank. Dr. McAlpine’s research focuses on ovarian and endometrial cancers, with an emphasis on targeted therapies, survivorship and prevention.

Registration deadline is coming up
Register before May 8 for the Lymphoid Cancer Education Forum taking place on Friday, May 22.
Topics will include the latest in research and care for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Hodgkin Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Epic Impact Day Raises $97,225
On April 22, Ride to Conquer Cancer participants had one goal in mind: to get at least one donation as part of Epic Impact Day. By day’s end, $97,225 had been raised to support life-saving cancer research and enhancements to care at the BC Cancer Agency.
Since 2009, the Ride to Conquer Cancer has raised over $59 million for the BC Cancer Foundation and is B.C.’s largest cycling fundraiser.
