Let's Lose the Booze!
As some of you may know, my dad has cancer and has been having a pretty rough go of it over the last few years. I've always wanted to do some fundraising to show my support, and I saw the link for this challenge and though "why not?". The BC Cancer Agency has been helping my dad and I want to give back.
I love having a drink or two, as most people I know do, but alcohol consumption can have some pretty signigicant risks. I don't know if I have ever gone a month without it and I'm curious to see what it's like! A lot of people report feeling happier and healthier and since it's a new year, I thought I'd give it a shot.
So, this February, I’ve committed to Lose the Booze and give up alcohol for the entire month.
It will definitely be a challenge, but I’m doing it for an important cause. While I’m swapping my wine for water, and my pints for pop, I’ll also be fundraising for the BC Cancer Foundation. One in three British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, so this is a cause I’m willing to be parched for.
It’s going to be a long month, and I’m relying on the support of friends and family like you to see me all the way through to February 28th. I know many of you have had the awful experience of finding out a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, so please join my team if you want to participate and give up something very small in the grand scheme of things.
Otheriwse, please, will you support me with a donation today? Your gift will directly support life-saving cancer research taking place at the BC Cancer Agency– and will play a huge role in keeping me motivated this month.
Thank you so much for your support!
