This February, we have committed to Lose the Booze and give up alcohol for the entire month. Some of you may be aware but others not that last August my 42 year old brother in law was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a stage 4 Glioblastoma multiform. After a short but devastating 3 months Russell lost his fight against cancer leaving his wife my sister Charlotte , their 4 year old daughter and their 22 year old son Tom. Russ loved a good bottle of red and so we feel that this challenge although not a marathon is a fitting way to remember him and support others facing this devastating disease.
It will definitely be a challenge, but we are doing it for an important cause. While I’m swapping my wine for water, and Al's pints for pop, I’ll also be fundraising for the BC Cancer Foundation. One in three British Columbians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, so this is a cause I’m willing to be parched for.
It’s going to be a long month, and we are relying on the support of friends and family like you to see us all the way through February 28th.
Please, will you support us with a donation today? Your gift will directly support life-saving cancer research taking place at the BC Cancer Agency– and will play a huge role in keeping us motivated this month.
Thank you so much for your support! Fliss and Al
