When I ran my first half marathon in October 2012, my Dad was quick to volunteer to run it with me. His positivity and work ethic completely influenced the way he took on this challenge: he was meticulous with his training plan, fanatical about analyzing his stats and disciplined when it came to sticking to planned paces during the race.
He believed that he could learn anything if he was willing to put in the time and work. If something was important to you, you had to prioritize it, you had to believe you could do it, and you had to put in the work to make it happen.
This year, on my first father's day without him, I will be running Seek the Peak, and fundraising in benefit of the BC Cancer Foundation. I will be relying on the mental fortitude that I learned from my Dad to get me through this challenge, and hope that you will support me by making a donation.
The BC Cancer Foundation is the fundraising partner of BC Cancer. Every dollar raised stays right here, advancing research and enhancing care for the people of B.C.
Investments in science and enhancements to care can make a significant difference for British Columbians. BC CAN change the outcome for each person facing this disease. Together, BC CAN break down cancer.
Thank you :)
