Update: It is an amazing feeling that I have received so many support and donations and reached above my donation goal just in 2.5 days. All contirbutions will make huge differences to many others, it will be an unforgetable race. Thank you!
My story: In 2000, I was diagnosed early stage of papillary thyroid cancer and I was lucky that I was treated quickly. Today, I'm so glad that my body is healthy and I can enjoy my passion of running. Running gives me courage to overcome both physical & mental challenges, living on the other side of fear and enjoy the purpose of each running life no matter how hard or easy. I believe many other cancer patients also deserve to live in a joyful life.
On Sunday, June 16, 2019, I am participating the first time in Seek the Peak race which is 13 km of fitness bragging rights. Test my physical & mental fitness with 1,400m climb, from Ambleside Park, West Vancouver to the Peak of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain and also raises valuable funds for the BC Cancer Foundation’s lifesaving work against breast cancer and leading-edge research happening at BC Cancer. During my race, I will be thinking all my friends and families who has/had been going through the medical challenage.
With your help, BC CAN can make a difference in the lives of all British Columbians. One in two people in our province will face cancer in their lifetime and BC Cancer is igniting progress to break down cancer, piece by piece, in the labs and clinics. BC CAN change the outcome for each person facing this disease. Together, BC CAN break down cancer.
Please consider making a donation, with many of you has the kindness heart, even a $10, the total can be impactful. Thanks so much! From your happy runner friend, Chris Chan!
