While not many of you know this, on March 24th, 2021, (through a routine colonoscopy) the love of my life, Kelly, was diagnosed with colon cancer. On April 22nd, part of her sigmoid colon was removed along with some lymph nodes. Thanks to her fabulous team of doctors -- Dr Alexander (Copeman Health), Dr Lewis (her highly skilled surgeon) -- and wonderful team of nurses/attendants at Lionsgate hospital the surgery was an incredible success. She is now recovering at home, and her early stage cancer is largely behind her (all fingers crossed). This isn't the first time this horrific disease has touched my life. In 1998, it took the life of my wonderful father, Norman Wolfe, far too soon. In an effort to support research, treatment and/or elimination of cancer from all of our lives, this May I’m participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer. I'm joining others across the province and beyond to move, no matter where we are, every single day of the month.
One in two British Columbians are impacted by cancer. That's why I've committed to move and raise funds for patients, survivors and those we've lost. This challenge is more than exercise, it's about joining a community who know that together we can make an impact for those we love and have loved.
I intend to work out for at least 2021 minutes this month and have kickstarted this campaign with a $2021 donation. I will also match every dollar you can find a way to give!!!
As I get ready to sweat my way through May, please show your support by making a donation today. Better yet, start your own campaign by signing up and moving your A$$. I would be pleased to donate to support your own efforts and health
