This May I’ll be participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer, where I’ll be joining hundreds of others across the province as we get moving every single day of the month in support of cancer research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer.
I'm committed to exceeding my accomplishments from 2018 (31 workouts & 386,729 steps). That means I will be doing a few "double workout days" throughout the month and aiming for an average 13k steps/day.
I've also set a lofty goal of exceeding my 2018 fundraising total of $3,355 and I need your help! 40 of my friends, family and colleagues generously sponsored me last year, and I hope I can count on your renewed support (and some new donors too)!
All of this is for an incredible cause. One in two Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. I've committed to break a sweat and fundraise to improve the outcome for people facing this disease. Day 20 - Yoga - 9,354 steps
After three weeks of pushing myself, I really needed a day devoted to relaxation and restoration, and a stat Monday was the perfect opportunity. The fact that it was raining helped.
I had a long lay-in in the morning, spent some time reading and chilling on my couch. Later I went for an extended reflexology session.
In the evening I went to a 75 minute Yin Yoga class (with live violin) at Stretch Studio.

Day 19 - DOUBLE WORKOUT DAY - 11,677 steps
Started my morning with a flow class at Barre Fitness then zipped over to meet my colleague, friend and one of my Workout supporters, Katherine, for Zumba class! 11,677 steps.

Dragged myself out of bed for an early morning 30 minutes on the elliptical at the gym. I was not at all in the mood but the cardio totally turned my outlook around! 10,227 steps.

Went to a 9:30am barre class, then zipped over to Zumba at 11. Then made a last-minute plan to play tennis with Elissa in Dude Chilling Park in the afternoon, followed by a beer and a much-needed NAP.

Day 6 - Combat Club - 14,387 steps
Went to a killer circuit training class at Combat Club at lunchtime. Only two of us in the class so felt like personal training... Legs are still on fire as I post this the next morning. Walked home from work with a long detour. 14,387 steps.
