This May I’ll be participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer where I’ll be joining hundreds of others across the province as we get moving every single day of the month in support of cancer research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer.
I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2015, and finished treatment in spring of 2016. Exercise has become a big part of my life as it helps my mood and mental health, and hopefully is beneficial towards blocking cancer from ever coming back.
I've committed to break a sweat and fundraise to improve the outcome for people facing this disease across the province. With your support, we will make a significant contribution to the world-class research conducted by the clinicians and scientists at BC Cancer. Their work is providing exciting new evidence that is changing the way cancer is prevented, detected and treated. (I know this firsthand as one of the treatments I received, Herceptin, was not available a decade ago).
I am also participating for my wonderful Dad, who is currently also destroying prostate cancer!
Thank you for considering donating, and I hope this inspires you to get moving too!
