The reasons I workout:
(1) I’m working out in memory of my mom. She fought a brave battle with glioblastoma brain cancer in 2015, and along the tough journey she taught me invaluable life lessons and how to face the inevitable with grace and dignity.
(2) I’m working out to celebrate the life that she led, always volunteering and helping others. In that spirit, I’m working out to enjoy the experience and joy of exercising because I don’t want to take my abilities for granted.
(3) I’m working out to be a part of BC Cancer Foundation’s epic efforts to raise money and awareness, so to continue the medical advancement that helped lessen the burden while she fought cancer. While my family and I were caring for her and fighting with her, we often agonized that we were not able to unload her pain and carry that on our shoulders.
(4) As a certified couch potato, I am working out to stay healthy mentally and physically.
By raising money and supporting the work BC Cancer Foundation does, hopefully you can join me in carrying some of the workload in ways that we can, so to help those that are still fighting, or may have to fight cancer in the future.
Maybe it’s not possible to completely eliminate cancer from ever happening to anyone ever again. But, I do believe that step by step, dollar by dollar, we can all contribute to make cancer less and less scary, and eventually conquer it in whatever way we can.
Let's start our journey to Hope together! Become one of our supporters and help us reach our fundraising goal of 300$ that will go a long way!
I will be updating my Instagram with all the workouts in May - https://www.instagram.com/arasmayday_/
