September 23, 2016, I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. I was one of the fortunate ones as my cancer was considerted treatable. Over the next several months I underwent treatment and surgery. Cancer has changed my life forever. It has brought many difficult times and it has changed my body in many ways. It has also given me the gift of a greater appreciation for my wonderful life, my beautiful friends and family, and my amazing body. It has reminded me that I need to slow down and enjoy what life has to bring me. I am participating in the Workout to Conquer Cancer in the hope that one day a cure will be found for cancer and to strengthen my body so I can enjoy what life has to bring.
In May 2018, I'll be participating in a month-long fitness fundraising challenge that will have me lunging, squatting and downward dogging with hundreds of others across the province who have committed to make a serious impact in the effort to conquer cancer.
I'm going to Workout every day in May to improve the lives of all who are impacted by cancer. With your support, we will make a significant contribution to the world-class research conducted by the clinicians and scientists at BC Cancer.
Thank you for your support and here I go!
