This upcoming May I will participating in a month-long fundraising fitness challenge alongside others across British Columbia who have committed towards making an impact in the effort to conquer cancer. It is easy to feel helpless watching someone you love battle cancer, so I decided to do the small part that I can, and give back to the agency that has aided my loved ones throughout their treacherous battles.
Throughout my life, cancer has affected myself, my family, and those close to us in more than one form. Because of this, I am participating for my valiant family members who are cancer survivors. I am participating for my family members whose lives were unfairly cut short, ones who I never knew well. I am participating in memory of my dear friend Dorch who exuded more strength and courage than what's fathomable, and whose life was taken in April 2015. I am participating for one of the most charismatic people I have ever known, my aunt April, who never lost her spirit fighting until June 2016. And I am participating for my best friend, my beautiful mother, whose continuing to fight her strenuous battle every day.
I am sure that everyone reading this post knows an acquaintance , a friend, a colleague or a family member who has been affected by cancer. And so, I would love your support in any way you can provide towards reaching my goal of $10,000.
