This May I’ll be participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer, where I’ll be joining hundreds of others across the province as we get moving every single day of the month in support of cancer research and enhancements to care at BC Cancer.
I was diagnosed with Melanoma 4 days before my youngest daughter turned 1 and subsequently spent a month wondering if I was going to live to see my kids grow-up or if I was going to leave my husband alone to parent our sweet girls by himself. Not an experience I would wish on my worst enemy... Thankfully, it had not spread and I am officially a Cancer Survivor. However, I will never be able to go back to the time before my diagnosis and I am making significant lifestyle changes to make sure melanoma (or any other cancer for that matter) never touches my life again. In support of this, I have decided to join the Workout to Conquer Cancer!
With your support, we will make a significant contribution to the world-class research conducted by the clinicians and scientists at BC Cancer. Their work is providing exciting new evidence that is changing the way cancer is prevented, detected and treated.
So, as I lace up my runners, fill up my water bottle and get ready to sweat my way through May, please show your support by making a donation today.
