For the Workout to Conquer Cancer, I am being active every day in May to raise funds for the BC Cancer Foundation and BC Cancer. The funds I raise for will support life-saving cancer research conducted by the clinicians and scientists at BC Cancer. This research provides exciting new evidence that improves the way cancer is detected and treated.
My goal is to raise $200, and I need your support. Please support me in this important cause by making a donation here, on my personal fundraising page. All donations over $20 will be issued a tax receipt.
Chin-ups, pushups, burpees...these types of exercises suck to do. So to encourage donations, I'm inviting you to assign an exercise to every dollar you donate, which I will do in addition to my planned daily workout!
Whatever you are able to give will make a huge difference. If you're unable to donate that's okay too; you can help by encouraging me over on Facebook, where I'll be posting my progress! I greatly appreciate all support.
May 3rd-8th... I missed tracking a few here!
I've accidentally been focusing on Facebook and forgetting to update this page!
May 3rd: Participated in a Vancouver Mystery night, a game where you hunt for clues around Gastown to earn your Detective badge. 20k steps today, and a quick 5min home workout to keep up the daily momentum.
May 4th: Solid 1hr home workout today, feel pretty good about it! Used various fitness apps for my routine, and added 3 sets of 3 chin-ups. These are much harder to do after a workout. 9.3k steps.
May 5th: 10min home workout, 3 sets of 3 chin-ups, and walked 12.7k steps. Not the most active day, but it's not a rest day!
May 6th: walked 8.5k steps and practiced archery for 2 hours. New focus for my workouts: get stronger for archery, and balance out my muscles so that I don't get too one-sided.
May 7th: to make the most of this month's efforts I've begun personal training! I've booked weekly sessions for the month and today was my first one. Homework time!
May 8th: took a trial Tabata class at a gym near my work and it was really tough! I think I'll stick to the YWCA, but omigod was I ever active today.

It's day 2 and already it's hard to fit in a workout to my day. I'll get the hang of it soon I'm sure!
Today's activity: 9,800 steps, 15min home workout with the help of the Fit in 30 app.
