For the past 7 years, I have watched my mother live with cancer. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer but unfortunately after a few years it metastisized to her bones. Throughout these years, she has always chosen to remain positive and optimistic. I think she is incredibly strong and wakes up every day to fight for herself and her daughters. Throughout her journey, she has maintained a positivity, a hope and love for life. She is more than my mother, she is my role model, my inspiration, and my hero.
It takes a team to carry an individual fighting cancer through their journey. Our team of incredible friends and family have loved and embraced us throughout these past 7 years. The feeling is indescribably humbling. In addition to the support our loved ones have given us, we have received an incredible amount of expertise from the BC Cancer Agency. The individuals there have become friendly faces and an extension of our support system. This is my way of saying thank you and spreading that love and gratitude forward!
