This May I’m participating in Workout to Conquer Cancer to get moving and support BC Cancer patients! I'm joining others across the province to move, no matter where we are, every single day of the month.
At the age of 8 years old I was diagnosed with AML, a type of blood cancer that has a very rapid onset. I underwent chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant and was declated in remission. However, four years later in July of 2013, I relapsed and had to undergo treatment again. Ever since my second transplant in October of 2013 I have been in remission. However, due to the fact that I relapsed and required a second transplant, I've been living with Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD) since 2015.
It caused a host of problems including causing me to become handicapped, and 90% wheelchair bound until a couple months ago when I was finally strong enough to undergo physical therapy.
I am doing this so that one day no other child, teenager or adult may have to undergo the physical, mental and emotional hardships that I have because of cancer
So, as I get ready to sweat my way through May for every patient who cannot, please show your support by making a donation today.
