Beautiful, Strong, and Determined

Louise was a beautiful, strong, and determined woman. When she was diagnosed with a rare form of Uterine cancer in June of 2010, she made it her mission to beat the cancer and live to see her two grand-children grow up. Despite being shocked and scared by her stage 4 diagnosis, Louise embarked on a journey to fight the cancer with everything she had. Since commencing her first round of chemo in the fall of 2010, she managed to beat down her cancer time and time again, but, to no avail, it just kept coming back. Unfortunately, despite giving it her all, Louise lost her battle to cancer on May 30th, 2013.

Knowing how aggressive her form of Uterine cancer was, Louise took every necessary step to stop the cancer in its tracks. She changed her diet, got regular acupuncture, and even delved into her spiritual side and, hence, practiced both meditation and Reiki. All of which, undoubtedly, helped Louise be stronger in the biggest fight of her life.

Despite not having won the war, she won many battles. So much so that she astounded her doctors time and time again. Her Endometrial Oncologist, a leading expert in his field, had never known a woman to beat her form of cancer with 4 different treatments of chemo. She beat the odds 3 times! Unfortunately, even though the fourth time the chemo worked initially, it eventually lost its effectiveness.

Louise's fight and determination was boundless. She gave her daughters a lot to live up to as she never wavered from her determination and strength to beat the cancer. Right down to the bitter end, she was determined to live, despite her pain and suffering. She was and always will be an inspiration to her family and friends. She was an INCREDIBLE woman!

For a Worthwhile Cause

The BC Cancer Foundation was one of Louise's favourite charities. Long before she was ever diagnosed with cancer, Louise and her husband, Erik, gave donations to the BC Cancer Foundation on a regular basis.

The patient care that is provided at the BC Cancer Agency is beyond astounding. Louise trusted in her doctors every step of the way and they stood by her side and continually helped her fight the good fight. As long as Louise said she wasn't giving up, neither did her Oncologist.

Thanks to kind donations like yours, the BC Cancer Agency has managed to achieve leaps and bounds in their research and practice that has helped cure or prolong the quality of life of an astounding number of cancer patients. Louise was a prime example of that. She left her mark in medical history.

In memory of Louise, please help make a difference in the lives of so many people who are battling cancer. Every little bit helps.

Thank you!
