Thank you for being part of the 4th Annual Cypress Challenge! A fundraiser for pancreatic cancer research in memory of Jack Poole.
Join the Glotman Simpson Cycling Club on August 20th and ride 12 km to the top of Cypress Mountain to raise money for pancreatic cancer research. The event is open to everyone with the determination to pedal up the mountain. Eleven different ride categories ensure riders of all ages and abilities enjoy the event. New this year is a First Peak category for recreational riders who are interested in riding the 5km to the First Peak on Cypress Mountain.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers. With so few survivors to advocate and raise funds, we have dedicated this year’s Cypress Challenge to the memory of Jack Poole. Jack, the man responsible for bringing the Olympic Games to Vancouver, died of Pancreatic Cancer in October 2009 just a few months shy of seeing his Olympic dream fulfilled. He was a man of great spirit, drive and determination and his commitment to the community and to the public was something he highly valued.
100% of all rider donations go to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the BC Cancer Foundation. The suggested minimum donation is $25. All online participants have an opportunity to create their own personal page and fundraise additional funds for pancreatic cancer research.
