Malaria Protein Shows Promise as Cancer Treatment
A protein produced by the malaria parasite is showing promise as a new treatment for cancer, according to a group of scientists that includes the BC Cancer Agency’s Dr. Poul Sorensen, distinguished scientist and co-senior investigator for the study.
“This is an extraordinary finding that paves the way for targeting sugar molecules in pediatric and adulthood human cancer, and our groups are vigorously pursuing this possibility together,” said Dr. Sorensen.

Golf Classic Reaches $1 Million Fundraising Mark
The 2015 Country Meadows Senior Men’s Golf Classic raised $100,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation, in support of Dr. Marianne Sadar’s prostate cancer research program at the BC Cancer Agency. These funds bring the event’s incredible 16 year fundraising total to over $1 million!
