One of the best there ever was, and you will be missed.

It is with such a heavy heart that I have to share this with you.

John passed away Monday March 1st, shortly before 1pm in the afternoon. His mother, myself, and his best friend were by his side right until the end to send him to a better place where he can finally be whole again, no more pain, no more cancer.

He turned quite quickly for the worse starting on his birthday, Saturday the 27th, we weren't expecting it to happen as quickly as it did, and just a few days prior John was adamant that he could outlive the timeline that his Oncologist had speculated about. But it was not meant to be.
He was comfortable to the end, and he was at peace.

My heart is completely broken. The world was a better place for having him in it, and we are all better for having known him.

Instead of a formal service we will be waiting until Sunday April 4th, to have a proper celebration. That is opening day for his favourite team the Yankees, where they will play their arch-rivals (and Johns most hated team) the Red Sox. Save the date and details will follow soon.

Please forward this email along to anyone you feel I may have missed.

In lieu of flowers please, please, please instead make a donation in John's name to the BC Cancer Foundation, it is with their help that John was able to have the last two wonderful years that we had together. Their staff were so good to us in our hours of need.
John would want very much for us to continue to fight for a cure for this horrible disease.

Rest in Peace, my love.

Much love to you all for all of your prayers and love for John and I over the past two years. We would not have gotten as far without you behind us.
John wanted you to know that he appreciated every single one of you and your families and friends for doing that for us.
