Simplistic is the word to illustrate Brenda’s life.
Brenda wasn’t an energetic person but rather a caring and loving person we had all known. She was thoughtful, optimistic, cheerful, generous and courageous who motivated us all to enjoy life to the max. Her kind darling smile and considerate personality will always be her signature. She was someone who would live to give and never flavored for a return. Brenda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a dear friend. She enjoyed life to the fullest and never wanted to let go. Her personality really made everyone loved her for who she was. She was the spirit in our life. Not only that, she was a great mentor and listener. She embraced her family as a top priority of her daily life.
Brenda was a great healthy cook/chef who loved to try new things. She was a food lover aka addict. She loved to shop at the grocery stores and always planned out a great dinner. She also loved to read magazines, newspaper and books to find interesting quotes and menus. Her great cook will be greatly missed especially her Chinese Taro Cake, and Chinese Dumplings! Also, she was a music lover, from Beegees, Bangles, Kenny G, Babara Streisand, Carpenters, Choi Com to modern artists like Jason Mraz, RubberBand & Eason Chan and many more.
Brenda was diagnosed with Lung Cancer Stage 4 back in 2009. It had metastasized to the brain, bone, and lymph nodes. It was shocking news to the family because she lived her life healthily and did not smoke. After her diagnosis, Brenda went through 10 radiations for the brain at the BC Cancer Agency and 20 chemotherapies at Richmond Hospital’s Oncology department. It was a tough battle but she kept her positive smiles & attitude in her daily life. Her motivation was the key of the battle. Brenda passed away peacefully in her husband & daughter’s arm on Feb 21st, 2011 at 10:40am at home.
Brenda will be greatly missed but never be forgotten. Her spirit will carry on. She was a great tough fighter who fought until her last breath. We are blessed to have great families & friends in our lives to help & support us through the moments and love us for who we are. She will always be remembered in our heart through the photos that we had taken. Physically, Brenda was a small woman but mentally she was a strong woman inside out. We believe we will see each other again, celebrating and laughing loudly. We are all very proud of her through out her life and with the battle of cancer, and it worth every bit of the moments.
We also would like to thank the Richmond Hospital, BC Cancer Agency, Dr. John Wu, Dr. John Yun, Dr. Michael A. Varelas, Christine Leung (Nurse), Linda Yearwood (NP), Michelle Becker, Deb McGrath for all the help and fought with us. We appreciated all your help. Without any of you, we wouldn’t make it that far. We fought hard and it was a journey to learn how to love and cherish. At last, we would like to thank all the families and friends, we donated all your generosity to the BC Cancer Foundation and Richmond Hospital on behalf of Brenda Leung.
Brenda & family want the public to make high awareness of Lung Cancer. All donations/funds will go specifically to Lung Cancer research. Hope it helps others to fight cancer and bring awareness of this disease; possibilities of a cancer-free world.
PAPAMAMAMIMIBB will always be bonded and loved.
