This January, I've committed to Lose the Booze and give up alcohol for the entire month.
Cancer first touched me twenty-nine years ago. I lost one of the most important people in my world. I lost my aunt. She was 29.
A year and a half later, I was diagnosed myself.
While I won my battle, my life was forever changed in the process. Cancer and surviving cancer very much became a part of my identity.
In the years since then, I've lost so many people to this horrible disease. Friends, family... over and over and over.
Two years ago, I saw this fundraiser and given that it was two things that had profoundly changed my life... I decided I should do it. I wasn't sure I could make the $200 minimum... in the end, due to our very generous community, I made it over $1000.
So, here we go again. No booze in January. For a cause... for myself... for my Aunt Charlene.
It’s going to be a long month, and I’m relying on the support of friends and family like you to see me all the way through January 31st.
Please, will you support me with a donation today? Your gift will directly support life-saving cancer research taking place at BC Cancer – and will play a huge role in keeping me motivated this month.
Thank you so much for your support!
