Exploring for a Cure: A BC Cancer Foundation Fundraiser
Exploring for a Cure 2024
Building on a successful and sold-out inaugural event last year, AME and BC Cancer Foundation will host the second annual "Exploring for a Cure" dinner on January 22, 2024 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East in Vancouver, BC. Held on the Monday evening of AME's annual Roundup conference, this event aims to connect British Columbia's philanthropic mineral exploration and development industry with the BC Cancer Foundation in support of their world-class research.
We are very excited to welcome Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser as our keynote speaker this year. Seven world championships, six Olympic medals - she is a titan of sport and a leader both on and off the ice, having now transitioned into a career in medicine and as assitanat GM for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Much like her bestselling book Over the Boards: Lessons from the Ice, we expect she will share the lessons that won her four Olympic gold medals, and hard-earned wisdom distilled from moments when she fell short.
About BC Cancer Foundation
We are the fundraising partner of BC Cancer and the largest philanthropic funder of cancer care in the province. Every dollar we raise stays in B.C., advancing breakthroughs and innovation across BC Cancer's research programs and its six world-class centers.
We are raising $500 million in B.C.'s most ambitious health campaign. With community support, our goal is to increase access to cutting edge care closer to home and provide tangible hope for all British Columbians. Together, we will go beyond belief.
The time is now.
Whether you’re a BC Cancer expert researching new treatments, a donor inspired to give, or a patient facing their greatest challenge, the dream is the same – life beyond cancer.
With community support, BC Cancer can become a national leader in cancer outcomes - increasing access to cutting edge care, closer to home.
The need is urgent. Life beyond cancer is within reach.
