PG to Van: Biking for a Cure
Hello everyone!! My name is Mark Camps and I am currently a student in UBC's masters of physiotherapy program in the northern cohort in Prince George. I have had the wonderful opportunity to get to explore northern BC as well as the towns/cities between Vancouver and Prince George. As I discover new towns, cities and people, I have also been subjected to the constant reminder that cancer impacts many, many people all around the province, country and world. As an avid biker and lover of the outdoors, biking has been a constant hobby of mine. As an avid camper, I didn't see why not I could combine two of my passions. This is how the idea to bike from Prince George to Vancouver came to life.
Like many others I have been witness to the struggles, hardship and pain cancer can bring to individuals and families. I have had friends, teachers, loved ones, and more be diagnosed with this disease. I have witnessed the relentlessness and persistance that cancer as a disease presents with. That being said I want to fight back with the same attributes that cancer prouds itself on.
In coordination with BC Cancer Foundation I am looking to raise funds to contribute to the amazing research and work that is being done to help gain knowledge, find treatments and work towards a cure for cancer. Any donations made to ths page will be going directly to BC Cancer, and not to me. I am embarking on this journey raise awarenss, raise funds and lastly for an amazing adventure.
If you have any questions about the process feel free to reach out!
