SUPPORTING RESEARCH AND CARE AT BC CANCER
February 28, 1946 - March 21, 2025
Our dear Buz passed away on March 21 surrounded by his loving family. He will be missed by his wife Wendi, sister Jane (George Hungerford), brother Lyall (Susan), nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Buz embraced the true meaning of love, compassion and grace.
He was born in Vancouver and after a MBA from UBC, Buz entered the world of banking in Vancouver, Toronto and Chicago. Returning to Vancouver, he worked in international finance, government relations and as an entrepreneur with his wife Wendi. He contributed to many organizations including Science World, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Gardens, Export Development Corporation, Sovereign Order of St. John, mentorship programs at UBC and BCIT and all levels of politics.
Buz was very proud of his Scottish, Gwich'in and English heritage.
Many thanks to the medical teams especially at BC Cancer, Pacific Spirit and St. John's Hospice.
In honour of Buz Knott, please consider a donation to BC Cancer Foundation here. Donations in his memory will support the development of a simple blood test to detect melanoma early and guide more personalized treatment.
