Here we go, year 2! This May we as a family are again participating in the Workout to Conquer Cancer to get moving and support BC Cancer patients and in particular our hero Myles Lindsay! Myles is our nephew and cousin (one of 15 Lindsay cousins!). He was diagnosed in March 2021 with Diffuse Infiltrating Gastric Carcinoma and is undergoing treatment at BC Children's Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency.
To say it has been a challenging year is an understatement. Surgeries, chemo, radiation, scans, scans and more scans, puking as the norm a couple of times a day... all this and more Myles endures with a smile on his face. He has been such a trooper and is literally our hero. We are in awe of his resilience and positive attitude.
It is everything for us to be able to support him in any way we can, and raise funds for oncology research and treatments.
This is what each of us is committing to do, every day in May:
Sue: Minimum 45 mins of riding, hiking, running, F45 or yoga
Noel: 1 hour of hiking, mountain biking or spin every day for Myles!
Riley: At least 45 minutes of running, hockey, gymming, hiking, tennis or pickleball every day and 100,000 steps on May 31st.
Jordanna: A total of 100 miles ran in May.
Abby: Minimum 45 mins a day of F45, running or hiking and walking 100,000 steps on May 31st.
Nicky/Jenna: 100 Miles + of running, riding, and swimming in the month of May and Walking 100,000 steps on May 31.
Maddy: 45 mins of working out daily, and 10K steps a day until the end of May.
Jesse: 45 mins of working out daily and walking 100,000 steps on May 31.
