MT+CO INDIGENOUS CULTURAL SAFETY PROJECT FUNDRAISER

We at MT+Co. are pleased to invite you to support an exciting fundraising initiative for BC Cancer’s Indigenous Cultural Safety Project.
We know that one in two people in B.C. will develop cancer in their lifetime and Indigenous people have both an increased risk of developing cancer and poorer survival rates. One possible factor contributing to this is the relationship between cultural safety and utilization of cancer services.
Indigenous communities and organizations require direct support, tailored to their specific needs, to better understand and navigate B.C.’s complex cancer care system. BC Cancer is launching a two-phase pilot project created to make BC Cancer centres culturally safe and reflective of Indigenous patients, families, and communities whom they serve.
This is an issue that is close to all of us at MT+Co., which is why we are committed to helping the BC Cancer Foundation raise funds for this important project. We’re kicking it off with a $5,000 donation and are looking to you, our peers in the legal community, to help us hit our collective goal of $100,000. We invite you to match our donation or contribute what you can towards this project.
Your generous support of this pilot project will have an immediate impact, resulting in better outcomes and a better quality of life for Indigenous people facing cancer. While this project will initially begin at BC Cancer – Victoria, it holds tremendous potential to serve as a model for all six BC Cancer sites to benefit Indigenous communities across the province.
Thank you for your consideration – we hope you can join us in raising critical funds to improve the cancer journey for B.C.’s Indigenous patients.
