Mum's story May 11, 1044 - October 17, 2018

Cancer has touched our family once again and since we know Mum is at rest with Dad we choose for her to join him on his memory page at BCCF.

After her diagnosis with Stage 4 lung cancer in early January, we felt we were blessed by the wonderful people at BC Cancer Agency who were able to target her cancer and keep it at bay for the many months we had thereafter. There were difficulties along the way but Mum took the time when things were good to enjoy moments with family and good friends, mainly at her house on Bowen Island that she loved so much and loved more when it was filled with the people she cherished - add good food and wine and things were pretty perfect.

The photo was taken on one of their many trips to Italy, their favorite travel destination.

We would like to thank our family and friends who have donated to this page and BC Cancer in general, we certainly saw the advances that are being made in treatments over the last few months, we can only hope that a cure can be found in the near future.

Dad's story June 16, 1940 - September 30, 2011

Although Terry's work as an engineer was prime in his life he also possessed many other attributes. He was a great cook, a wonderful family man and a Mr. Fix-it of everything from computers to antiques. Fortunately for each of us he was able to maintain his dry sense of humour to the very end. We will miss him every day.

During the past four years Terry spent more time at the BC Cancer Agency than anyone would have wanted. He was treated with respect, dignity and caring at the agency, however, his ongoing concern was that in spite of amazing progress there is still a long way to go to find a cure and less invasive treatments. He had particular empathy for young cancer patients.

We know that every donation will bring us closer to reducing the amount of time future cancer patients will need to spend at the Cancer Agency.

Sheena, Nikki and Jen
