In November 2011 Ben was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma. Ben's 'mission was remission' and he was a true fighter who faced every day with a positive attitude and unbelievable fortitude. Sadly this terrible disease took his life after only 4 short months. Those who knew and loved him will miss his fun loving stories, his positive attitude, his beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Ben was scheduled to participate in a chemotherapy drug trial that holds promising results in combating this disease. Donations to the BC Cancer Foundation (funding the BC Cancer Agency) will help support research and advancements in treating this and other types of cancer.
