THE CAMPAIGN

WOMEN GOING BEYOND unites women leaders across Vancouver Island in a philanthropic effort to propel access and innovative research of women’s cancer care.

It is part of the Foundation’s Beyond Belief  campaign, the most ambitious and comprehensive health fundraiser in the history of the province.

Launched in collaboration between the Foundation and our team of campaign champions, WOMEN GOING BEYOND is helping to build a world free from cancer.

Until April 30, generous supporter Charlotte A. Salomon KC has pledged to match donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, with a charitable gift from the Salomon Robinson Family Foundation.

WHY NOW?

Access and innovation have never been more crucial in cancer care.

Over the next decade, cancer cases are projected to rise by 35% in B.C. and an aging and growing population will increase the demand for services by a projected 60%.

With more possible now, than ever before, in cancer research and care, this is our opportunity to do what women do best: collectively solve big issues and shift others towards a world that benefits everyone.

As the demand for cancer services in B.C. grows, we can meet that demand with the same passion for community, supportive networks, and excellence that women bring to the table every day.

The BC Cancer Foundation has identified a first, vital step forward for WOMEN GOING BEYOND: coming together to invest in women’s cancer research that will unlock new treatment options right in our island back yard.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

From March 1 through to April 30, 2023, we are moving community leaders to contribute, connect, and activate their networks as we raise $250,000 toward women’s cancer research in BC, more specifically, clinical trials and research in Victoria.

We invite you to join us, activate your networks, and spread the word.
Though our minimum target is $250,000, we’d be ecstatic if we did more.
