FAQ

Where does my money go?
The funds you raise for the BC CAN Spin-a-thon directly benefit the BC Cancer Foundation, the fundraising partner of BC Cancer, to advance world-class breast cancer research and innovative care. Every dollar we raise stays right here in B.C. to save more lives in our community.

What do I have to do?
Start by registering for the challenge! Then set up your fundraising page and start asking your community to support you in this challenge.

Why is there a registration fee?
100% of the registration fee covers challenge administration so that 100% of the funds you raise go directly to support BC Cancer patients.

Is there a fundraising minimum?
It depends! You have two options to choose from during registration:

Option 1. Pay the registration fee with no minimum fundraising commitment.

Option 2. Waive your registration fee with your commitment to raise a minimum of $100 before November 1st, 2021.

Whatever option you choose, we encourage you to set your personal fundraising goal to $250. In our experience, this is a very achievable target for a week long challenge. You can decide to make this higher or lower depending on how much you want to raise! You can change your fundraising goal at any time by logging into your participant centre.

How much do people need to donate to receive a tax receipt?
Donations over $10 will receive an official tax receipt within 10-12 business days. If you have not yet received your tax receipt after 14 business days, please call us at 778.653.0045 or toll free at 1.888.906.2873, or email advancementservices@bccancer.bc.ca with the following information:
